All Doug Sassi Pottery is wheel-thrown stoneware that is safe for use in dishwashers, microwave ovens, and conventional ovens.The clay body and all the glazes are formulated by Doug Sassi and contain no lead or any other toxic substance.

Special attention is paid to details that make a pot comfortable to use. Handles are bold, strong, and sized to fit the hand. Rims are smooth and rounded to fit the mouth, to resist chipping, and to be easy to clean. Spouts pour properly. Walls are thick enough to be strong yet thin enough to make the pot easy to lift. Bottoms are smoothly trimmed. The glazes are smooth and easy to clean while being strong enough to stand up to steak knives, dishwashers, microwave ovens, and cleaning pads.

Caution: Casseroles and teapots should never be placed on a range or over an open flame. Ceramic material doesn't transfer heat therefore they must be heated evenly as in an oven.
